I have a fifteen year old son, who is very rarely left on his own as I don't work.
I am looking at going away over night in a few weeks is he to young to be left over night he has a 20 year old sister who will be in over night with him nut she only comes home from midnight from work. To me he is still my baby and am nervous to leave him, some people I know said he is old enough what do you think

My 15 year old has stayed by himself till midnight. I call to check on him and make sure he has our numbers. However he knows all of the rules of our home and knows he had better abide by them. I also let a trusted neighbor know that he will be there alone. I say as long as your 20 year old will definitely be home, shortly after work he should be fine.

Its hard to say without knowing your son. But if he is mature and trustworthy, then it shouldn't be a problem. Often a child will try to live up to the parent's expectations in a situation like this.

I think 15 is plenty old enough. It would just be a matter of whether you feel you can trust him. Only you know your son.

15 is old enough. Think of this as putting your parenting skills to the test. If you have taught him well then he should be just fine. And you seem like a fine parent. Don't worry about it. He'll be okay.

I gradually let my son be left long in the house on his own... and now he's 15 and babysits his 3 wee brothers sometimes.. its great

Oh yeah! My mom left me home alone when I was 12! He's a big boy, I think he can handle it.
