It depends on what you do and your employer. Some professions, like real estate, will get your license suspended if convicted of a crime of "moral turpitude."
The office where I work would not necessarily mean a loss of the position. It depends on the charge.
Also, if you working "at will" you can be let go for any reason.

The offence itself has a lot to do with it. Felonies are harder to get a job with but it is possible. If you have more questions contact me at [email protected]
If you are a Baptist minister most likely yes, if you are a plumber helper digging holes for pipes, most likely not. I would assume where you work knew you were arrested and convicted, since you either applied after it happened, or you had to take time off to go to court.
But unless it violates some law where you are licensed, and if you are a good worker most will not care.

Unless you're under contract, your employment is "at will." THat means that they can fire you at any time for any reason and you likewise can quit at any time for any reason. Is your employer aware of your conviction? Why are you concerned that they might fire you? Will your probation adversely affect your ability to do your job? Depending on the nature of your work and the conditions of your probation, you may have to do some juggling with your employer and your probation officer. I would expect that you'd have your probation officer's full cooperation when it comes to keeping your job as they'd certainly like you to be employed.
