Condominium Repairs due to internal plumbing in association
I own a condominium and pay monthly association charges. However, recently there was a plumbing problem throughout several condominium units in my development. The internal plumbing on the ground floor was demolished after a detection company found a leak in the old deteriorating pipes underground. My unit was involved. I was asked by the association to pay for it, however, when they found that other units were also having problems they took care of the cost of detecting. They fixed their plumbing problem and left my bathroom with an entirely damaged tiles and patches around the walls. To entirely remodel the bathroom, it has cost me over $4,000.00 in damages. I would like to recover it since the problem was an association problem. My insurance does not pay for it. What legal actions can I take and what are the laws regarding this situation.
Please advice,
Thank you.
