I have a brand new Price Pfister faucet Model # WK1-140C. It is a one handle design. Sometimes the faucet makes the water pulsate, like air in the lines, when it is opened fully. There is no air because this is the only place that I have this problem. It will do this on the hot and cold water sides. Everything works fine. I have never had a sprayer that cuts off the water completely to the spout, but this one does. It also makes the noise when the spayer is used when the water returns to the spout.

I have the same problem on my brand new Moen kitchen faucet.
The noise you hear is the diverter vibrating. I bet this happens when you turn the sprayer on. Try this, the next time this happens keep the vibration going and move the handle to the center position. Did the vibration stop? If so then mine was caused by low water pressure and there's nothing you can do that won't cost a mint. If not, then I would pull the valve apart and check the diverter for trash caught under the seat. Good luck, Tom

It only does it when the sprayer is stopped not when you start spraying. Also when the faucet is turned wide open it will flutter.

I will check for trash. My old faucet did not do this but it was the tradational 2 handle type.

I even thought that the supply lines were the cause. They are too long so I tied them to the wall with a zip tie. We live in a conventional foundation house and the supply lines are too far for the standard 20" supply hoses. I had copper lines but my wife kept hitting them with her cleaning supplies so I went with the longer flex hoses.

You will have to remove the spout to get at the #951-050 Spray Diverter and Spring. Check that the spring is strong enough to hold the diverter in the closed position when the water's running out the spout. Good luck, Tom

I will. I got an exploded view from the manufactors website. Can I test this while looking at the diverter (LOL wishfull thinking). How do I know if it is strong enough.

I had this problem with a new price pfister and fixing it was as simple as tightening the water line for the sprayer to the center fitting on the faucet, this must be tight enough so the rubber washer seals completely. Once I did this, problem was solved. While under the sink may as well check that all connections are tight and not dripping.
