    Painful period
My last 7 periods have been SUPER DUPER PAINFUL so bad that I cry.. I use pain kilers for the last 3 periods but it doesn't help! Could it be me? My friends say that they don't get cramps now that they use the pill but I'm not allowd to

I use to have the same problem with cramping; so bad that I would lay in bed with my heating pad and ibprofen and cry! Trust me, I feel your pain. I learned that taking ibprofen a couple of days before your period starts can help with the pain. Yes, birth control can definitely help stop the pain, it did for me. Explain to your mother how bad the pain is and that it affects your life (it did mine) and make it clear to her that you are a responsible young adult. Maybe the both of you can visit your doctor together to find out what more could be done if she still resists allowing you to take birth control.

First of all, you can get ibprofen over the counter; it should be around the Tylenol in your local department store. It is not costly. There are not many cons to taking birth control; maybe you should do a little research on it and show it to your mom and boyfriend. Honestly, it is not up to him whether you take birth control; only YOU are in charge of your body, not him.

I get cramps pretty bad and also am having period issues but one thing that I did find was when I first start feeling the cramping coming on I start taking advil or generic advil. It seems to take the edge off but it does not help with any mood swings. When I was younger and I did take the pill, it was wonderful, I had no cramps and very short periods but that is not an option for myself but if you are of age I would consider it, especially if you have no other health issues

I used to get extremely bad cramps and lenghty periods before I discovered the pill (one of mans best invention hehe).
However, as rankrank55 said - its YOU who makes the decission about taking the pill and no one else.
I remember 10 years ago when I decided to try the pill, my boyfriend was very against it and said its un-natural... which in some way he is right, but its MY body and I took it!
If he respects you, he will respect your decission.
When you visit your GP take him with you.
