Fan is seized on outside A/C unit
The fan on my outside A/C unit has seized up and will not spin. The unit turns on and sounds fine and I don't smell anything (like oil, burning, etc). I took a stick and tried to spin the fan, but it will not budge.

Any suggestions? I would like to narrow down the problem before I call for a service tech. Thanks!

If it is seized it's time to replace it. Time to call in the tech. Have the tech change the capacitor with the proper size for new motor at that time as well

Thanks for the response. Of all the posts I have read, the blades always moved, but mine didn't! Now I know why.

Yep, esquire is right, it's locked up, this is pretty common, unless you are really handy, I'd also suggest calling a tech. trust me, sometimes this can be more work than some people want to take on.
