H4 Visa- Earlier admittance to U.S.
I am hoping to move to the U.S. with my family but the fiscal year (which I understand is the start date of when H1B visa holders can enter the U.S.- Am I correct)? Begins on October 1 of this year, FAR LONG after the first day of university that I am applying to.

    1) Am I allowed to enter earlier than my father (the H1B holder) so I can start the first day with the rest of the student body?

    2) Would the university even ACCEPT my application?

    Please reply ASAP!

From my understanding you have to apply for an F-1 visa, do you already have the H-4? If so, no you cannot enter the US before the date on the H1-B visa. You should inquire about getting an F-1 instead of an H-4 or you won't be able to enter the country in time to start school.
