Need to find and replace starter on honda accord 1998 lx what tool are needed and do I need to take any parts off
Honda Accord Starter Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the starter cable from the "B" terminal on the solenoid, then the BLK/WHT wire from the "S" terminal.
3. Remove the two 14 mm bolts holding the starter, using a 3/8" drive ratchet wrench attached to a 6" extension bar; then, remove the starter.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: When installing the starter cable, ensure the crimped side of the ring terminal is facing out. It's a good idea to clean both terminals and connectors with #240 abrasive cloth and coat with dielectric grease.
It's located just below and to the rear of the distributor (on top of the transaxle).
Great advice, Can follow big positive wire, Have found majority of Starters on same side as battery.
Of most cars honda starters are generally easy and sit on the top of the tranny, so if you know what you are doing it should be maybe a 30 - 45 min job (if you've done it before like me otherwise I don't know how long you'll take)
Exactly what I need
