My doctor put me on prenatal vitamins to help conceive

Humm... to help you conceive? I know that it is a good idea to take prenatal vitamins before you start trying to conceive ,in order to build up nutrients inside of your body for the baby but I'm not sure that they will help you conceive any faster... did your doc give you an explanation?
