    Losing a lot of weight
I volunteer every day mon-thurs and this lady brought one of those step things and apparently we walk 6.5 miles every day, but still I can't seem to lose weight, what do I need to do, eat salads all the time? Or go to the gym and get a harder work out? Any suggestions?

You need to do a variety of exercises, like some form of aerobics, biking, swimming, dancing, for 30-60 minutes and 4-5 times a week, you really have to work the whole body to lose weight. Watch what your eating, eat smaller portion, a portions of meat is only 3 oz, make sure it's lean protein like skinless chicken, turkey breast, fish or loin type meats, try and eat protein with every meal. Stay away from fatty cuts, or fried foods, and of course fast foods. You need whole grains like wheats or oats, cereals, rice, pasta and breads. Cut out cakes, cookies and candy (for at least awhile.) Lots of fruits and veggies, beans, legumes, seeds and nuts are good but only 1/3 cup which is basically a handful, but it'll keep you going till your next meal in case you get the hunger pangs. 2-3 servings of low fat, or skim dairy, like low fat milks, yogurt and skim, partially skin or low fat cheese not the processed kind, but these products are great for helping you burn body fat more quick. Cut out all presweetened drinks like soda and drink lots of water, especially during your exercise periods. If you make healthier choices, keep to the smaller portions and exercise the whole body you won't need to eat like a rabbit!
