How to convince parents to get industrial piercing
Well ever since my friend convinced me to get the industrial piercing, ITS BEEN ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT. Its driving me crazy and my friend is supposed to get it next month. I'm supposed to go with her. When I first asked my mom she said she would think about it(and I know her, it was more like a yes and not just because that's what I wanted the answer to be) then one day I showed it to her at the mall and she asked me if I really wanted it? And that it was ugly. Then another day I showed her another one and I had been sooo excited about it and she flat out said no:eek: . I was in complete shock and now I'm obsessed with it. :( . I already tried asking her and said its just on my ear and that I'm a good student but I don't know what else to say! Please help me come up with a good exuse I already know all the risks and I know that I am allowed to get it underage in my state as long as I have permission from my mom. I'm 16

Your Mom said no. She is responsible for you. If there were any consequences to this piercing, she would have to take care of that. I have seen pics of industrial piercings and I am on your Mom's side with this. No minor child of mine would get one either. If he or she would want one that bad, he or she can get one when they are out of the house and paying their own bills. Maybe this won't seem so attractive in a few years.

    Hello.

Im sure your Mom has a good reason for saying no. As you said she thought about it and didn't say no until she checked into it. If its something you really want then give it some time and show her that your not just wanting it because your friend has it.

Remember your asking your Mom to trust you and treat you like an adult so don't blow it and act like a child because she said no.

    Good Luck

If your mom sαys no then you hαve α slim to none chαnce of doing it-- your most likely obsessed with it becαuse you cαn't hαve it. If your 13 then I cαn see where she's going by sαying no... whαt is the αge of mαjority? 18?.

By the way I hope you hαven't toyed with the thought to forge her signαture- it's illegαl αnd you'll get into α hell of α lot of trouble with the mommα... or if you find someone who does it illegαlly then you know it's not sαfe-- there αre diseαses out there like Hepαtitis.. wαit till your older αnd do your reseαrch before you get it done in the future..

Honey I just got mine done last week. They rip through your ear with a hollow needle in 2 parts of your ear. It hurts really bad. Then they rip through it again to put the earring in, which also hurts really bad. I have my tongue, eyebrow and nipple pierced, and the Industrial would have brought me to tears if I wasn't so shocked that it actually hurt, since I have a very high tolerance for pain.

K well I have no tolerance for pain! I'm seriouly telling you my biggest fear just might be needles but I honestly don't care because I really want one! Lol and I'm a sissy when it comes to these things I just know there's a way I can convince my mom.

If your mom said no then she probably won't budge. I wouldn't keep bugging her either because its just going to make her mad. And you say you have no tolerance for pain now, but just wait until you actually get it. It hurts. Just wait until you're 18, that's what I had to do because my mom wouldn't let me have piercings either. When you're 18 you're an adult and can do whatever you want :)

I was really excited before because I thought she had said yes but I just don't want to wait. I know my mom is always right and I always listen to what she says because I like having a good relationship with her but this is just a peircing on my ear! Don't u think she's exaggerating a bit? I've asked for one on my lip before and she said no and I can understand that but not this. And what do you mean by a hollow needle... how big?

It's a 14 gauge hollow needle. Hollow meaning its hollow on the inside of it so it can take a chunk out of your ear. They don't do that piercing with a gun, they use the same thing the use to pierce someone's tongue. I would say she exaggerating but not in this case because this piercing his highly prone to infection and takes about a year to heal fully.

Thanks and you kind of scared me a little by the way haha but really can I just get advice on how to convince my mom?

You cant. When parents say no 9 times out of 10 they mean it. You'll probably just have to wait until you're 18.

I bust my you know in school and I always ask for permission if I didn't care what my mom said I would have it already! My stepdad is considering and he could convince my mom but I just want a little help cause I know my mom would understand. I just don't want to pull the "i wanna fit it" line(which would work) cause I don't want her to feel bad for me when that's not even the reason I want it. My mom constantly changes her mind. Last year she let me dye my hair and now its like every time I want to dye it she has a reason why I shouldn't when she didn't have a problem with it before. She's just scared cause she thinks I'm doing weird stuff to myself

Does everyone else have an Industrial? If so, I don't know why you want one anyway. Its better to be unique rather than like everyone else. Hardly anyone around here has it, that's why I got it. I still don't think she'll let you, but what you can try is do some research on the pros and cons of getting that piercing. Try your case just like you're a lawyer in court. Maybe she'll notice the effort you put into it and consider letting you have it done.

No one has it here. That's what I meant by saying "thats not the reason that i want it". Well maybe I've seen one girl with it. But the reason I want it is to be different and ill stand out. I'm just so bored of being the same all the time and I want to change a little bit which my mom doesn't understand. I mean.. I EVEN had to convince my boyfriend to let me get the industrial. I just want to change a little every now and then

I can understand that. That's exactly how I am. I want to be different than everyone else. Just tell your mom that. Tell her you want to be unique and not like everyone else. You can always say "at lease i'm not asking for a tongue piercing", but only use that one if you're brave because that one made my mom mad. Just do like I said and research it and explain it to her.

Yea I told her that at least I'm not asking to pierce my face or anywhere weird and she just ignored that part but thanks anyway ill take your advice about the research and the unique thing. :)

If she says no I wouldn't argue, it'll blow your chances of getting anything else in the future.

I'm going to try my best not to push my luck because I also want to ask her if I can go to a concert with some friends and she might say no to that too! I just hope I can change her mind about the peircing
