I wonder if any one has any idea what this could be? I have noticed some amber colour substance on some of the timbers in my attic. They look like sugar crystles. Thanks

The Amber color is possibly sap. If the sap is real old, it is called amber.
Didn't know it crystalized. Maybe salt and sap?

Its sap seeping out of the lumber. Its harmless but don't touch it until it dries up.
