    Hampton Bay Remote Fan
Hello. I have 2 Hampton Bay fans (with lights) that use the same remote. One works fine the other, not so fine. The fan speed control doesn't work on this unit (low = none, Med & High = low). Since the remote works well on one unit do I assume the control unit that runs the fan is bad? Or, maybe the wiring? Thanks for any help!

If the receivers are easily switched, then you can determine fan or receiver is bad,
May even find bad or loose connection.

Thanks for your suggestion. I couldn't find any loose wires and the unit didn't appear friendly to being switched - I like that idea so I will look at it again. Thanks.

Sounds like a bad capacitor. The capacitor is usually in the receiver.

    Do these fans have pullchains?

No, the fans do not have pull chains. For the time being, we use the fan with its only speed - slow.

That affirms my earlier response. The easiest thing is to replace the receiver.
