I have currently been on the depo shot for a year. Between my 3 children, I have been on the shot a total of about 12 years. It has always worked well for me. However, I have been spotting for the last 13 days. Usually, I have no sign of a period. Never have any spotting. I took a home pregnancy test with a negative result. Can anyone tell me what might be going on? I have had false negatives with home pregnancy tests before. I don't have any insurance, so just going to the doctor is not in my budget. Any input would be appreciated.

I had this happen to me when I was on Depo. The Depo show threw off my periods so badly that when I was spotting it was actually my period. And mine would last for long periods too, around 2 weeks. I would also go probably 3 or 4 months with no period at all. Sometimes I would have a heavy flow period that lasted maybe 5 days. I think it could be the Depo, because that stuff really changed my body and I don't doubt it will do the same to others too :)
