1. My washer drain backs up on the spin cycle. The drain sits just above the washer itself.

I tried adding drain cleaner and a 2' PVC air line to the washer drain but no luck. It drains when the lid on the washer is lifted at the right time during the cycle. Do I need to snake it?


2. My office toilet flushes very slowly. The toilet in my main bathroom flushes fine though. Related problems? Not sure.

For the toilet, I replaced the toilet, snaked the line all the way to the main line, snaked and pressurized the air vent and added several gallons of drain cleaner but no love.
If there was a tree root in the main line, the common toilet wouldn't flush either.
I need help bad on both.

Yes! You have a partial clog consisting of fiber matted with grease from the soap. You may snake it through the washer stand pipe and trap or from the washer roof vent.

If you had tree roots both toilets would be affected. If the new toilet's acting just like the old one then bvsomewhere in the drain line something's setting up back pressure that's impeding the flush. How does the toilet act.
Backs up mto the top and slowly goes down? Swirls around an d goes down without taking solids with it? Please give me some more details. Regards, Tom

As far as the toilet is concerned, it just flushes slowly and not enough for solids. It doesn't come up to the top but just slowly goes down with the typical gurgling at the end.
The toilet actually acted fine for a while after I replaced it but after a couple of weeks, it started flushing slowly again.

Sounds like you may have something in the toilets drain line. If it gets any worse I would have the toilet pulled and the drain line snaked from the closet bend. Good luck, Tom
