When a virus enters a cell causing it to lyse what does that term actually mean

When it enters a cell, it uses its protein synthesis machinery and produces several copies of itself when these copies of virus gain exit from the cell ,they lyse the cell and come out.

You can imagine a balloons rupturing and giving out lots of blown air.
