Make a doctor's appointment. You need a blood test to find out if you are or are not pregnant. If you are, then you will most likely have your first prenatal appointment. If you are not, you need to find out why.

    Myth
Relax and try and get a second opinion... Stressing can delay your period too. I used to skip every other month too... so it might just be your body going through some hormonal changes.

I would get a second opinion, especially if your doctor told you it was all in your head, which seems like a rude thing to tell a patient. You might just skip a period, but if this is unusual for your body to do call a different doctor and get his/her opinion.

Periods can be funny things, they can be regular for years, then suddenly stop, change or just plain go crazy for no apparent reason. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You have ruled out pregnancy so that's not a worry, how is your diet? Being over or underweight significantly can affect your cycle, as well as stress (even if you don't feel stressed, your body might!) its not uncommon for periods tro mess up every now and again, and almost always its nothing to worry about.

I notice you have not mentioned your age. Age can be an important factor also, due to hormonal changes with different ages.

I recently turned 42 and have had 1 child previously (now 11 years old).. I have passed blood tests for hormonal, thyroid and other pre-menopausal tests and everything pointed towards NORMAL and very FERTILE.. now what??

You could very well be experiencing peri-menopause. The beginning of menopause. You see we are born with a limited number of eggs. Once the eggs are gone, we stop our periods. I am 43 and going through this now. I have a period once a year and all hormones are normal.

If I am experiencing peri-menopause.. then how come all my hormone levels point to being FERTILE.. very confused

You may not be producing eggs as often as you did when you were younger. While your hormone levels are normal, you may have fewer eggs in your ovaries.

So what do you suggest that I do? I am now on day 56 without a period.. feeling pregnant . But 4 EPT's and a blood test say negative.. could I have tested too soon ? Dr was rude and uncaring and when I try to consult another Dr I am told that my Dr needs to give me a referral form.. bureaucrats !

At day 56 I doubt you tested too soon. Also, blood tests are more reliable than the urine tests.

Have you tried contacting your insurance company about switching health care providers?

I did my blood test on June 19 (was supposed to start my period on June 4)

Also did EPT's and came back negative

Should I go for another blood test?

You could benefit from another blood test, but a full and complete physical would be in order.

Thanks J_9.. I will either go back to idiot Dr for a complete checkup or at least for a referral and find another Dr

You see, that idiot doctor is your employee, if you don't go to him, you don't pay him, so do what KP suggested and fire him.

Contact your insurance company for a new provider.

Things are different here in Canada.. we are not referred to Dr's by our insurance companies.. health care is free.. therefore.. there are idiot Dr's unfortunately

Only option is to see him for a referral and copy of my file so that someone else could take care of me and my future
