    Housing Grants
My family keeps growing and the money that we have coming in is barely enough to pay for all our bills every month. I am wondering how I would go about getting a government grant to pay off my mortgage and then build a bigger, more suitable home for my family? I have used Google to try to find out how to apply for a housing grant, but I keep getting scammers who want my money and don't guarantee anything. How do I apply for a housing grant through the government? Aren't government grants supposed to be free? Please get back to me as soon as possible, because I want to apply for a government housing grant as soon as possible.

    Thanks,
    Michelle

There are few if any grants to individuals to pay for their mortgage, if there was, there would not be the 1000's of foreclosures there are everyday.

Most grants go to larger non profit groups who in turn help people with getting a home, such as down payment assistance, or large companies that use grant money to help with the buidling of developments that they are suppose to sell at lower than standard costs and rates often to speical listed types of people, tax breaks for new homeowners and groups that help specific groups, ethnic, income and the such. Grant requests are very difficult to do, one of my friends is a grant writer ( yes that is a job, just writing them) and only about one in about 25 he does gets accepted and that is considered good.

I believe you are expecting our government to give you something that just is not there.

I am trying to purchase the home I am in , I live on a moderate income and do not work during the summer months. I would be a first time home buyer but have been through rough times so credit score is below what is needed. The house I am in is valued at 254K although landlord is asking 330K - Have attended a hud certified housing buying workshop and NAACA
workshop. I am looking for grants that would help minimize the workshop payment on the house. Am behind in rent also so need grants that would help bring me up to par for back bills as well to improve credit status what is the best route that I should take. Help is needed immediately. I have launched a gift basket business and vend to the local area and school district. I've been in business for three years yet no money to advertise and buy inventory to stock surplus. Would it be better to buy the house under business name
or would it be better to get a grant for the business to offset other areas of needs. Thank you
