    Hair too dark
I recently dyed my hair a shade of light golden brown, but instead it came out a very dark shade. Before dying my hair I had light brown hair with blonde highlights. I would like to lighten my hair and salvage some of the highlights buried under the brown dye. I have heard that Prell shampoo does a good job stripping dye from hair. Is this true?

Once you've used a permanent color to alter your hair color, you will not be able to salvage any previous highlights. Using Prell, dandruff shampoos or clarifying shampoos will slightly fade hair color. However, these shampoos will not lighten your hair. If you want to go more than 3 shades lighter, you will need you use some kind of hair lightening product. You should consider getting a corrective color at a hair salon. They will be able to achieve your desired color without the brassy tones.
