I am having a terrible time removing stains from grout that was here when we bought the house. It is in the kitchen and I have tried everything under the sun. Some one said vinegar and that didn't work. Ive also tried oxyclen and it didn't work either. I have tried clorox clean up and awesome. We are in the procees of selling and I really wish I could find the right thing to work. Someone said muriatic acid with 50% water but that sounds leary to me. Please help!:)

Try lysol toilet bowl cleaner,it cleaned my tub which has been stained for years.it's strong.

Here's A Totally Different Method To Think About, If You Can't Get The Stains Out, Work With The Stains, Did You Ever Consider Changing The Color Of The Grout? They Make A Grout Stain, Its Almost Like Painting Your Grout Joints, We've Used This Before, And It Works Great, Especially For Light To Darker Colors,
If Not That You Can Go Get Some More Grout, And Regrout The Floor, Is Should Help With The Color,

As Far As The Acid, Yes That Will Work, And I Don't Blame You For Being Leary Of Using It, This Is One Of Those Things You Need Gloves, And A Mask, But It Will Clean, We Also Use This For Cleaning Paint Off Brick, And Concrete,
You Can Use It With A Tooth Brush On The Grout, They Sale It A Lowe's In The Paint Department, Good Luck

If the grout is white use white toothpaste and a firm toothbrush. I like denture brushes.
It made my 20 year old white grout look brand new. I don't know if it works on colored.

Another thing I just thought of is baking soda and vinager.Put baking soda on the grout,then pour the vinager over it.The mixture will begin to fizz,and will break up the dirt.I use this to clean drains ,and rust stains so this may work.;)

I've used that little machine "Shark" it is powerful. It blows the stain out - although it is a slow process, because it is small.
