Please tell what to do when a 40lb. Child refuses to take medicine.I feel like I am medicating a pittbull.I wind up wearing the medicine.He recently had strep throat and never took a drop of medicine the dr. prescribed.Blowing in his face will not work,so tell me something else.

I have 4 kids and the only thing that works for me is bribery. I give them the medicine and right after they take it I give them a piece of their favorite candy. I just explain that if they eat the candy right away, they won't even taste the medicine. This has become a tradition in our home.

My sister used to hate taking medicine when she was little! She would pretend to take it and then hide it in the couch or throw it. Or just dump it down the drain. One thing that I remember working really well was my mom put the medicine in with some ice cream. My sister didn't notice a thing! But if ice cream doesn't work. Bribery definitely should!
