    Scotts rider 1742 hour meter
I have a used Scott's 17hp 42 inch cut rider, made by John Deere.
I noticed the hour meter is always in display mode and wondered if it supposed to display even when the key is off and removed. My concern is that this will drain the battery?
    Thanks,
    Paul

The only time it should display is when the engine is running. Although it doesn't pull a lot, these batteries are not all that strong. It will drain your battery in time. I would either replace at about $25.00 or disconnect it.

Umm, Lets See A Milivolt Per Week, Not Likely To Run The Battery Down, If This Is Just An Hour Meter With The Hours Only, I Wouldn't Worry About It, They Do Make Some That Do Display 24/7 / 365 Days Per Year.
