I have a boil located on my arm. It is red and hard and it hurts. I have had it for about a week. Last night, it popped or opened up. It started pussing and bleeding. I need help on what to do to the boil now?

I'm going to the doctors today.. do you think they will drain it or lance it? Or will they just give me antibiotics? PLEASE help me.. kind of urgent:confused:

First of all, make sure you keep the boil very clean! I would suggest washing it with antibacterial soap. Then to help dry the boil out and reduce pus, soak a washcloth in a saline solution and apply it to the boil. I would hold it on the boil for about 2 minutes. If its already draining I don't see why they would lance it, they will probably just give you antibiotics. :)
