Why do you need the run command to change your internet browser homepage? If you are using IE just go to tools -> internet options -> it should be in there. If you are using a different browser it should still be close to this.

When you try and run the command prompt, does it by any chance tell you you're not allowed to perform that action or does it just not bring it up?

Sounds like a nasty little virus I had a while back, that hijacked my homepage as well!

If you need to change your home page use Superfly999's suggestion but if you think that you have a virus on your computer, I would advice you to install an antivirus and it's uodates... ;)

Well, if you think you know what the problem is, I would just go with your senses and try to run a virus scan if you haven't already; here is a good free virus scan site online (make sure you run it in IE and not Firefox or another internet browser) housecall.trendmicro.com . Hope you find your problem ;).
