    Eviction credit report
My son was evicted from a rental property in college.. though it wasn't his fault it went on his record because the property lease was in his name and not his roommates... how long will this eviction stay on his record in the state of virginia and is there any way to remedy this problem until its taken off?? Also how can he pull a copy of his rental report, we only see websites for landlords

    Hello l:

The eviction was a judgment, and notations of judgments come off after 7 years.

There isn't a "rental report", per se. There are as many of them as there are companies doing them. And, as a reflection of the marketplace, there are good ones and bad ones - expensive ones, and cheap ones. Even the cheap ones, however, can uncover the eviction...

The FCRA allows your son to add a 100 word statement to his credit report. I would take that opportunity to explain what you explained to us.
