Mainly exercise during your pregnancy depends on what your previous exercises were (how good of shape you were in, and how much demand you could put on your body with these exercises) and the kind of pregnancy you are experiencing (for example: high risk, low risk, normal) Your doctor is the best person to ask about what exercises you should do, as they best know your physical condition and what would be safest for you and baby. However, I would suggest pregnancy yoga or pilates. I have heard highly of these, however I have never done them so I can't tell you from personal experience on those. However, walking is always a safe and effective way to exercise through out pregnancy, and helps strengthen muscles for labor and delivery.I loved walking because it gave me a chance to get outside and take my older son as well, and just be able to have a calm and relaxed time, thinking things over, and just enjoying the outside, but without over exerting myself, yet still getting that much needed exercise. When exercising, make sure that you drink twice the amount of water you would normally drink, as exercise quickly depletes your water levels. Also, stop before you get tired, never over exert yourself, if at any time you have pain, or bleeding, stop your exercises and consult your doctor immediately. Hope this helped. (walking is also a great exercise after you give birth. It can be started right away IN MODERATION)
