    Landlord Foreclosure
I'm renting a house in Indiana I just found out is being foreclosed upon. The landlord won't answer her phone. The summons we received listed my husband and I as defendants "John and Jane Doe". The summons says we have 20 days to respond. We're on a month to month lease (the lease actually expired Sep 2006) and it's been verbal month to month since.

I want to know if the bank wins the foreclosure, which they probably will, how long do I get before I'm evicted?

I'm also about to pay rent. Do I pay it? She has given us no receipts, stupid I know, but we thought she was a friend. Since I'm going to have to move I really need that rent money for another place.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You need to find out who owns it currently, but once it is foreclosed any rental agreement is void, and often they will evict you long before the sale of the home. If the landlord is still owner of the property they have a legal right to be paid. Now what I might do personally may differ
