    Relinquishing your rights
I would like to know how does a parent relinquish their rights of their children? I have been waiting on my ex-husband to pay child support for 6 years and yet received nothing. I asked him to just give up his rights and leave us alone. What necessary steps do I have to take?

Well it looks like he has given up his rights, if he does not see them.
But doiong this 6 years of waiting how many times have you taken him back to court to force him to pay ? Have you turned it over to your state child support enforcement * if they have one**.
And giving up his rights, does not mean he is not suppose to pay child support, it only means he can't see them. ( so why in the world should he do that)

You need to get child support enforcement or the courts involved. You can't force him to assert his rights to visitation or decision making (therefore no need to terminate them), but he can be forced to pay his ordered child support!
