    Time for the vet?
My kitty got locked in the laundry closet last night, and by the time I found her, she had knocked over some powdered detergent. WHile she's acting and eating normally, one of her eyes is swollen and squinty but only slightly watery. It seems unchanged since yesterday. I rinsed it, but it still seems the same. Should I consult a vet at this point?

First thing I would do is look on the box of detergent and see what it says about first aid and hazards. That will give you some idea of how bad it may be. And the second thing I will say is that eyes are one thing where I will lean towards going to the vet. If something goes wrong with them, it has a huge impact. And if nothing else, having soap in your eye is irritating.
