    Ceiling Fan Remote Control Configuratoin
I replaced my ceiling fan with a Hampton Bay Parisian II remote controlled fan. In my house I have one separate switch for the light, and another switch to control the fan and the light. The light comes on fine using either the remote or the wall switch, however the fan switch will only work by the remote. I have a black wire capped off now in the current configuration. Thanks.

    Previous Configuration:

    Wiring Fan Wiring
    ***** *********
    Black Black
    Red Blue
    White White
    Green Green/Copper wire

Black is fan, blue is light.
Most remote receivers usually have black and white in.(no place for third wire)
Out to light and fan. White to fan white. Black to fan Black, and blue to blue or
    Black w/white.
Strange that light is on both switches?

Ok, does your fan have pullchains, and an added receiver, or a built in remote?

You can't use BOTH a remote AND two separate wall switches for fan and light. Either you control the fan/light with the remote, or with the wall switches, not both.

Thanks guys for responding, there is no pull chain for this fan, and yes it does have a built in remote. I can live with being able to power on the fan only from the remote, I am thinking about affixing the remote to the fan switch since I can't use it anymore. Thank again.

Ok, the receiver should only have two wires to connect to the ceiling. How many does it have?
