    Browsers and links in apps.
I have a problem. Right now I'm using applications like Pidgin for IM and Thunderbird for e-mail, but it's just an annoying problem that I just want to fix now.

My friends send me links via IM and when I click them.. nothing happens (Might be an IE problem, but IE always has problems). So I have to copy and paste the link from the app into my Firefox browser.

Is there anyway for the browser to automatically open these links from the other apps when I click on them? I'm surprised because e-mail links from Thunderbird doesn't open up Firefox. . -.

Firefox is already set as my default browser.

Hmm, some programs require an extra thing then just a click (such as ctrl+click) to open the link. Perhaps there is a setting that you could turn on or off in the programs that could change this to open links in a browser upon click? I know it wouldn't be in Firefox but the actually Pidgin and Thunderbird. Hope you find out how to fix it.

Maybe you have to configure your IM to interact with other programs...

    I found the answer. ;]

I opened Tools in my regular folders window.
Went to File Types and found the registered file type for URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol.
I clicked Advanced and I made its action open with the default application as Firefox.
    It's working now.

    Thanks for your effort though.
