Hi

I have very straight hair and is dye of black, I feel like black hair makes me look older,I want some highlight done, I don't know what color. Or if highlights will be the best choice, help. I don't want black hair anymore :(

What is your natural color?
You could always just back it down to a deep brown with some sort of carmel highlights.

I used to dye my hair black all the time but I now realise it never suited me! I still have my hair dark as it suits my clothes better but I go for dark mahogany reddy colours and sometimes a colour with a purple tint. It lift the colour a bit and catches the light nicely. Perhaps you could try that? I like schwarzkopf live colours and garnier nutrisses ranges for bold but not black colours.

There are sites on the web where you can upload a photo and try out different hair colours/styles, perhaps you give one of them a go. If nothing else they can be quiet fun.

Failing that find a hairdresser with a professional colourist, they are trained to match good colours to your skintone and sometimes they come up with ideas you would never think of yourself. I once came out with ash blonde and purple highlights - doesn't sound like it would work but it looked really good!

Don't despair there is a world of colour out there. And remember- if it doesn't suit you/ you don't like it you can always dye it another colour. Just experiment and have fun

If you have dark or black hair, you should not go more than 3 shades lighter than your natural color with highlights because it will look unnatural. For natural looking highlights, I recommend choosing a golden brown or light brown color.
