How does the court determine when a parent if unfit. Aside from physical abuse what other factors are considered. My husband has shared custody with his 13 daughter. This past month we have found out her mother has allowed to get body piercing (without us knowing), go to parties and drinking alcohol. Encourages her to have boyfriends. On one occasion my step daughter was caught "making out" with a boy at church youth group. We didn't find out for weeks later. The group leader asked for our phone number from he mom and she claimed she did'nt have it. In my mind these "HUGE RED FLAGS" . One final issue is high school. For the last several years the daughter has been attending a Christian Private School which we have shared in paying with the understanding starting High School she would be attending our local public school. The mother went and registered her at the same private school without our knowledge . Will this require an ex-parte motion to get it heard before school starts. We already told her we will not be paying for this private school any more she was more than happy to foot the bill. Even though the public school is far superior to this Christian school (and wouldn't cost her a penny) What are the chances of getting heard on this matter.
