Extended noise on relay for ac fan
We have an older Central Air unit with gas powered heating, I recently installed a new computerized thermostat. After installation everything runs fine but the blower motor seems to have a slight buzzing noise on constantly when it is running. I am not positive but I do not think this noise was on before installing the new thermostat. Is this noise a relay that will eventually burn out because it should not be on all the time, a problem caused by the new thermostat needing to be wired differently. Any light on this subject would be very appreciated. It could be I never noticed the noise before and everything is fine?

Often in older furnaces you will hear the relay hum a little when it is engaged, sometimes it's louder than usual. I think everythings fine, as long as your system seems to be working, I wouldn't worry about it, if you miswired the new thermostat, it would have shorted something or possibly not of worked at all. If you still feel uncomfortable about this, maybe you should call in a pro. To check things over. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt your system to be checked over and cleaned anyway.
