This Last Saturday my boyfriend broke up with me over the phone. Two weeks before he broke up with me, I took my boyfriend jake to a party with me. At the party I met this guy named Tim who was Jake's friends buddy. Anyway. Once school started again Tim walked me to classes, came to my classes, and tried to hang out with me every second. I didn't think much of it since my boyfriend Jake didn't care or at least he said he didn't care. Then Tim began to tell me how he liked me. I was really frustrated and told Jake about it and told him that I didn't like Tim but still Jake did nothing. Tim decided to keep following me and asked me what class I had next right in front of Jake. Jake didn't seem to care. Then last Saturday Jake broke up with me and he says the reason is because he doesn't like me anymore. I asked him for how long he hasn't liked me and he said, for over a week. I asked him again, why would you wait a week? And he just replied. I don't know. I wasn't sure what to believe. Then in school I asked again if it was because of Tim and he yelled in my face no and kept avoiding me. I'm not sure why but after that day he's been very angry towards me and is avoiding me as much as he can. He won't even say hi to me and is acting like I was the one who broke up with him getting angry when people ask him what had happened between us.

Also when I was talking to one of his buddies this week during a study hall his friend Luke was talking about Jake. I told him how I didn't like seeing Jake because of his behavior. Luke then told me how he saw me hanging out with other guys (couple days after the breakup). I didn't deny it and I told luke I was hanging out with my friends. Luke said that it's not right for me to be hanging out with the guys. I don't know why it should matter when Jake's the one who broke up with me.

It's so confusing and every time I try to talk about it to my ex he just wants to yell at me or avoid me. Someone explain to me why he hates me so much. My ex say's it had nothing to do with Tim. So what was it? :confused:

I say that you don't deserve that type of treatment. You should find someone worth your time. Anyone who dumps you and doesn't even give you a legitimate reason, then you need better. Also, if he didn't want to talk about it then it's his problem. I know it hurts you but honestly it doesn't seem like you did anything wrong. Just let him be for now and if he wants to talk I'm sure he knows you are waiting... Maybe try asking again in a week when he has relaxed.

You would be much happier leaving Jake and his buddies alone, as they have obviously been talking, and reporting back to your ex. How immature is that?? Kick 'em all to the curb. Jake is an immature boy, in case you haven't figured it out.

I'm even more confused now. In school this week before we got out he acted as if I was the one who dumped him and jake began to yell at me in the hallways. Today I had to return to school to take regents and I saw Jake on my way home. He didn't act like he hated me and smiled and said hi today. It's weird how one day he's yelling at me and the next day he's smiling and waving goodbye.

Jake's probably pissed about tim. Seems pretty clear to me. I don't know, maybe he doesn't want to admit it, because that would make him sound jealous, and he has too much pride for that. Hence the frustration and yelling.

See, Jake's screwed. If he explains to you that he isn't too happy about Tim, he comes off as "just being jealous."

So, what's wrong with him being nice and smiling?

The on again-off again like/hate stuff---seems indicative that he's internally frustrated but is trying to show he doesn't care (though he does). Or he's just trying to be nice. All in all, I think he's a bit more confused/upset than you.

Why did it matter how jake felt when tim was around? You're mad that he didn't react in vain? Why didn't you tell tim to piss off?

I mean, you tell jake you don't like tim, but you and tim are always together (I understand he's the one after you). But, how come you never took initiative to say, "hey look tim, i have a boyfriend, jake, so ....adios" ? Why does it rest on jake to say "hey i gotta problem here..." ?

It sounds easy but when I actually did try to tell Tim to back off Tim just started to hang around me more and more and wouldn't take no for an answer. He knew I had a boyfriend at the time but wouldn't stay away. I told Jake what was going on and how Tim wouldn't leave me alone and he was getting out of control. I wasn't trying to make Jake jealous, I was just trying to get rid of Tim and making sure Jake didn't get the wrong idea seeing Tim follow me everywhere.
