Brown water all of a sudden
Taking a bath-doing cossword puzzle-when I looked down the water was brown-Cold water only at this point.. . but I ran the sink and now it has brown water-then I flushed 4-5 times now that is bownish too. Same I the Kitchen.

What do I check 1st-call the water dept in the mornig? Or am I about to become an overnight plumber?

A little more detail. Haxzor assumes you have a pump. Your post indicates city water. Which is it? How old is your house? What material are the pipes? Brown water indicates iron oxide,(rust). Have you any idea where your cold water could be picking it up and do you have brown water on the hot side? Regards, tom
