Is It Because I Shaved or From waiting so long?
OK today is June 12th... so about 2 weeks ago I went to the doc because I I thought I had a UTI. I had previously taken some AZO and drank a whole lot of water and cranberry juices to the point where I never want to see another cup again. The doc said that I pretty much helped clear it up but I had ended up with bacterial vaginosis... I didn't really have any symptoms that I was actually aware of... She gave me a script for metroconazole or how ever you spell it.I wasn't able to get it filled till the 9th of this month for income reasons... On the 5th I shaved my pelvic area and like on the 8th I got a horrible itch and a very very small amount of white discharge... its driving my nuts as I type. I don't know if its from the medicine or is it from me shaving but I know that its driving me nuts... anyone have any suggestions or had anything similar please help me out...

Ohh and I don't take birth control and I haven't had sex and almost 3 months...

Sounds like a yeast infection to me. Just call your dr. and they can give you diflucan - a one day pill and it knocks it right out. If money is tight - start eating yogurt or get achidopholis (SP?) pills - it's the active ingredient in yogurt.
I don't think it has much to do with shaving.
While bacterial vaginosis can give you a discharge - it typically isn't coupled with itching. It's never happened to me anyway.
    Hope this helps.

I would say wait and see if it continues. When I shave, I get really itchy a few days later so that may explain the itching, but it would only itch on the skin outside, not the inside so try to locate exactly where the itching occurs. Watch the discharge to see if it changes because it would be normal for it to change colors with a new medication. But the above poster is right in saying that it could also be a yeast infection. Watch it for a few days and then take it to a doctor.

I get the redness and itchiness from shaving, I learned that if you put either a&d ointment or a hydrocortisone cream on after shaving it stops that. As for the discharge, I would say that it could be a yeast infection also. It could be from the antibiotics.

The brand name of this med is Flagyl and it is very well known to cause candidiasis, better known as a yeast infection. Please contact your doctor for a one time pill called Diflucan as mentioned above.
