    Weird printing program behavior
Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but any help would be appreciated! This isn't a problem, so to speak, just very annoying! Every time I print something, the next time the computers turned on (whether it's shut-down and started or just restarted) the printer icon appears in the task tray and I have to open it and manually delete the document or picture that I already printed.
I'm sure it's not a printer problem. Never had this problem until buying this machine with XP pre-installed on it. Just bought and installed a new printer (not because of this issue, just needed a better one), and it does the same thing. I'm assuming it's just a simple setting in XP somewhere, but have had no luck in finding it.
Sorry if this is a silly question, but this is very, very annoying. If anyone knows how to correct this, it would be VERY appreciated!

    Printer Problem
    Hi,
No question is silly, and yes, you can post a question anywhere you wish.
I would go to Start/Run, then type in MSCONFIG, and click on Go.
This will bring up a window, then click on the StartUp tab at the top.
On the left of this window is a listing of all the programs that start up when you start your computer.! There will be lots of them!
Scroll down the left, and try finding something about your printer.
You can left click on it, to remove the check mark, then click on Apply, then OK, and re-boot the computer.
This may or may not be the problem, but it's worth trying.
If you uncheck something your computer needs, you can always go back and re-check it.
There are also other things to look at, but try this first.
    Best wishes,
    fredg

Now a little further information is needed please.

When you restart your computer and you have the printer icon in the task tray, do the print task say they have been printed or are they printing again ?

If the print jobs are just coming up as printed then try this:
    OPen 'printers and faxes'
RIGHT click any where BUT NOT on a printer
    Left click on 'server properties'
    Then 'advanced' tab
Make sure 'log spooler events' is UNchecked.

    That should clear this issue.

IF on the other the documents are re-printing after a reboot then you need to uninstall and reinstall your printer.

    Hope the clears things up.
