I am 7w4d today and I started spotting red and brown today I went to the hospital and was having mild cramping they checked and my cervix is closed and they did an u/s(with a not so great machine)and there was a baby with a heartbeat of 180bpm and a yolk sac, I am going on Monday to get a better vaginal one done.

I am still spotting a tiny bit and mildly cramping mostly when I get up or coff.

What could this be the ER said could be a placenta tear but I read that the placenta doesn't really grow till 10wks.

Need advice please.

I've heard that some bleeding in early pregnancy can be normal. Sometimes it is unexplained, other times it is due to tears in the cervix or something else. Just relax until you get in to your doc for another u/s.

I had this happen at 5 weeks. They did a vaginal ultrasound and could find nothing wrong. My blood test and urinalysist came back good. They said sometimes it just happens and there is no known reason.
