    Adoption issues.
My husband is not my son bio father. His fathers name is not on the birth cert or any other legal outstanding document. We had arranged child support personally, he has since stopped providing that (which is ok). He has proven that he doesn't want anything to do with him. My husband and I just got married. He wants to adopt him but we are unsure of the steps to take in order to do that. Any Suggestions is greatly appriciated. My son was born in CA and we now live in CO if that matters. Thanks!

You need to hire a family attorney who will send the bio-father forms to relinquish rights then help you file your husband's petition for a stepparent adoption.

It should be no problem as long as the bio father signs willingly. If he can't be found or refuses to sign you will need to possibly publish a notice or send certified letters to the last known address, wait some period as proscribed by state law, then have his rights terminated by a judge.
