Do you have to register my marriage with the state I live in?
Hi Everyone! I Am Getting Married In Ohio Next Week But I Live In Michigan, So My Question Is Do I Have To Register That Information With Michigan And What Happens If I Don't? If Anyone Has An Answer To This Question It Would Be Very Helpful. Thank You!

LOL, I got married in Michigan and live in Tennessee.

You see your marriage license will be registered with the Bureau of Vital Statistics that will be shared by all states.

No, there is no such thing as registering in your state. At least no requirements. You have to have a valid marriage license in the state you get married at. And you have to meet all of their requirements.
And if you then meet all of the requirements for a legal marriage in your home state, you marriage is also legal there.

But bushg many may go to where the majority of their family lives, some go to marriage capitols, such as Vegas or Tennesse ( they do a lot of mountan weddings)

Now if your marriage would not be legal in your home state, such as same sex marriages, then it is not reconised in your home state.
