A child in my home has got the eye illness conjuntivitis (not sure the spelling), I know its extremely infectious to people, but can my puppy get it from close contact with the child too? Or do dogs not get it?

Thank you labman. The child is in bed, feeling very unwell and finally has gone to sleep, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to keep them separated. I will explain to him not to touch/hug the puppy in case she gets poorly eyes too.
There are relatively few diseases that affect both man and dog. I went to American Veterinary Medical Association and did a search. It looks like it is the symptom of several diseases. Has the doctor done a culture to determine the cause? I would try to keep the dog and child separated.
I trust the AVMA site more than a site Goggled up that I have no idea if it is to be trusted. Many sites aren't.
Note, I deleted my original post and reposted it without an improper comment. I want to thank bushg for her rating.
