    Tile floor shower drain leaking
I have a 65 year-old Spanish style house and I have a Tile floor shower drain leaking problem. When I apply silicon around the connection of drain and tile, it temporally stop the leak, however. A couple of weeks later, it leaks again. Any advise or recommendation of a handyman will be greatly appreciated.

    Good morning Joanna,

The seal on the shower drain has ruptured and running silicon jel around the outside of the drain lip is only a temporary repair. To fix this problem you will have to remove the top of the drain assembly and clean the drain lip and tile floor. Now run a small rope of plumbers putty or silicon jel under the lip for a new seal and reinstall it. Wipe off the excess and you're ready to "rub-a-dub" in style without fear of leaks. Good luck, Tom
