    Anyone know this 70s movie?
    Dear Experts,
I'm desperate to find the name of this movie which I remember seeing but not the title (or director or anything else useful).

It's an American made black comedy and dates from the 70s or maybe early 80s, set in a big, high-rise city.
It's about a quiet, innocent, inexperienced young guy who goes out on a date with an attractive girl who appears normal.
After starting uneventfully, his night gets progressively out of control. The girl has some kind of dark side and everything imaginable goes wrong for the guy through no fault of his own. His predicament goes from worse to worse and the situations ever more bizarre and seedy as he gets deeper into trouble with weirdos and criminals. I think he loses all his money and his car etc.
In one of the scenes he glances through a window and sees a couple in bed, When he looks again a little later the man is swinging an axe.

It has a similar kind of feel to Blue Velvet, but I couldn't trace it from that or David Lynch sites.

Let me know if you have any ideas how I could find it or if anyone else has even seen it and knows ANYTHING about it. I'm starting to think I made it up.

    PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!!

    I remember one like that...
It starred Griffin Dunne w/Rosanna Arquette and it was called "After Hours" and then there was another one that was like that one w/Jeff Daniels and Melanie Griffith called "Something Wild". Both of the movies were different...
