Every time my dishwaher drains, water comes out of the air gap.
I know that it should drain into the garbage disposal.
How do I unclog the lines.

Disconnct the drain line from the garbage disposal and take a look. I know of one case where the knock-out on the disposal had never been removed, so the dishwasher could only empty via the air gap! You may also be able to see a clog if there's one there.

If the dishwasher has been draining Ok in the past it's a pretty safe bet the knock-out plug in the disposal is not still in there, Do what does that leave?
We know you're getting water up to the air gap but not past it.
Remove the hose from the downstream side of the air gap and determine that it's clear from the air gap to the disposal. All clear? Good!
That puts the blockage in the discharge side of the air gap. Take a stiff wire and clean out the passage in the air gap. Test by cycling the dishwasher.
This is a prime reason that we do not use counter top air gaps in the Tampa Bay Area. We loop the hose up as high as it will go in the cabinet and secure it with a pipe strap. The loop on top is the air gap. In all the years we have installed our dishwashers we have never had a service call on a flood from a dishwasher with this type of air gap. (Growler! My local Plumbing Code requires the installation of an air gap on all dishwashers.
