Multimedia audio controller - no sound
I'm 14 so I don't know much about my computer besides it's custom made. I redownloaded Windows XP (XP Service pack 2) and now have no sound. I checked devices and found multimedia audio controller had a yellow triangle with an excitement mark inside it. I attempted to reinstall drivers but all I got was access denied.

If you can not install a new driver due to access denied, your account may be a "limited account." You must be listed as an Administrator in user permissions, to update drivers. Since you stated your 14, the computer builder may have listed your account as a "limited account" in which the system administrator on your computer, will have to set your permission levels to administrator, or update the driver themselves. Please feel free to contact me if I can be any help, as I am an IT Specialist. Have a great day, and please remember to rate me!

How I can know that what driver I need for audio controller

That can be a bit challenging if the builder did not give you a spec sheet. One sure way is to see if the sound card is built into the motherboard, or if it is an add pci card. If the card is added, it should have the manufacturers' name on it, and you can check their website for the correct driver. (This may be a bit complex, and I would only recommend removing the computer cover, with an adult.) Sorry there is not an easy answer for this. The other option you can try is locating a driver device agent, such as DriverAgent.com Fix Your Driver Problems Instantly with Driver Agent this will scan your system for free, but you may have to pay a free for them to locate your driver. Hope this info is helpful.

Reloading WinXP will not correct this problem. The error is due to your driver not being as new as service pack two. You will need to have an updated driver, again try DriverAgent.com Fix Your Driver Problems Instantly with Driver Agent for the correct driver.
