Problems with office 10 and office 11
OK I had office 2002 installed. The os is 2k. When in outlook using word as email editor. Word will encounter a problem. Ask to send a report shutdown then try to reclaim what you were working on. I have deleted the users profile and recreated it. I upgraded finally to office 2003. Still the same problem. Here is what I found in the event viewer:

The description for event id (1000) in source (microsoft office 11)
Cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary regisrty
Information or message dll files to display messages from a remote
Computer. The followinf information is part of the event: winword.exe,
    11.0.5604.0,. etc...

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

I've had the same problem with using Word as the e-mail editor. I just changed Outlook to not use it.

What level of patching are you on.
WIth Offie XP it up to SP 3 and Office is up to SP 1.
    Always worth a try.

Unfortunately I cannot change the email editor. The hospital I work for uses word as the editor. If I log on as another user there are not any problems  but like I mentioned I have already deleted the users profile once. This is installed on windows 2k it has the most current sp and I will have to look at the sp on the office install

Check the affected user permissions, both on the machine and Word/outlook.
