Dark brown hair a few shades lighter
Hi I was just wondering whether you could help me... I recentally dyed my hair, I wanted it 2 go light brown however afta I only left the colour on for 5 minutes it was alredy black!

I washed it of after 5 minutes and was uterly devistated... it has not faded a bit and is now a very dark brown colour.

4 weeks later it was still the same so I bought a XXL colouring kit that specialises in dyening dark hair lighter... nothing happened to my hair, but once I has read the instructions again I notices a sentence stating
'Do not use on dyed hair'
So I think this is why I never got a result.

Anyway... I would like to dye my hair from my now colour.. I have found a link of a photograph that the hair colour is similar (Not me in picture! )

    http://www.jaredstory.com/kristina7.jpg

To the colour I used 2 have in the picture below (Me in Picture!)

    PLEASE HELP ME!

    Thanks Kt

Can you go to a professional hairdresser for advice?

If I were you, I would dye my hair light ash blonde to see what happened. You run the risk of getting a greenish glow, however.

When you dye your hair from drug store hair dye kits, a general rule of thumb is to dye your hair at least two shades lighter than the color that appears on the box to get the color you want.

For example, I wanted to dye my hair brown to cover my grey, so I dyed it dark blonde and I was happy with the color.

In order to go from dark to light brown without the reddish tones, you will need to pre-lighten your hair and apply the desired color. It's best to get your hair professionally done.
