    It's hard to rule the world and impose your democratic belief system on the rest of the world if you isolate yourself from the rest of the world. Isolationisim is not a good methodology anyway. Look how China has done sicnce they changed from isolatioinisim to capatalisim. It's truly a global economy now and we could not survive if we could not import. Our economy would come to a screeching halt in 2 days. Think about it for a while and you will see.
