Old late 70's, early 80's fantasy animated movie.D&D based?
I would like to find the name to this movie. All that I remember of it is that it starts in a bookstore, a young man, with glasses does or purchases something there that ends up taking him to a fantasy land. If I remember right, it has a D&D feel to it, as though he was playing the game and ended up going there. But of course he meets a girl, he ends up going home without the girl and is sad but when he gets to the bookstore, she's there waiting for him in modern clothing. That's all I remember of it, the beginning and the end. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sorry that I don't know the answer to your question.

But in fact, I'm fairly certain that I'm looking for the same Movie.

There was an ogre, was there not?

Holy crap, thank you very very much. I do believe that this is it. It's been so long since I've seen it but the clips on YouTube really brought it back. Again, thank you very much and I'm glad you found it as well.

Look up comic series called "DEN". I don't remember the name of the comic book my uncle showed me, but it was thick, main characters name was Den or ?Dan maybe uncle dan, transported into a crazy fantasy adventure realm with nakedness, violence and really intense artwork. I believe that John Candy was the voice of Den in the animated version. I remebered something called the locnar and that's how I found it.

Cool! I found it. It was the paperback called NeverWhere (1978) by the author Richard Corben. There was a short animated version released in 1968 also called NeverWhere.
